Our planet’s population surpasses 6 billion people and this figure is increasing every day. However, freshwater is a limited resource throughout the world (under 5% is freshwater of which 70% is frozen at the poles) and its sustainability as a resource is a constant challenge.

What do we do at Ocean Coral Spring?

Aware of this challenge, Ocean Coral Spring decided to use freshwater responsibly in the hotel.

In addition, we employ diverse conservation measures for the use of water, for example: showers with water saving filters that reduce consumption by 40%; a continuous flow system for maintaining hot bath water to avoid waste; the monitoring of water consumption; reuse of treated water for the irrigation of green areas, etc.

How can you help us?

Join us to help conserve water by doing the following:

Participate in our program for the reuse of towels and sheets. In order to reduce water use and energy  consumption, we change and launder your sheets every other day. If you require a change of towels, please place the ones you wish changed in your bathtub.

Take shorter baths, a five minutes shower usually consumes 200 liters of water, whereas a three minutes  shower consumes 120 liters.

Shut off the water while you lather up in the shower. This will reduce water consumption by more than half. 

The energy humans consume at present comes primarily from fossil fuel, which generates greenhouse gas emissions that pollute the air and contribute to global warming. We all need to act immediately and decisively to save energy and reduce pollution for the planet and its inhabitants.

What do we do at Ocean Coral Spring?

We are committed to the reduction of air pollution and the hotel facilities are designed to be energy efficient. Among various measures, is the use of the solar panels to heat water, thereby reducing the use of gas oil. This diminishes energy consumption by almost 40%.

Additionally, we use energy saver light bulbs throughout most of the hotel (a 60% reduction in energy use).

Another measure is the automation of equipment, energy-saver sensor system, activated by the room key to switch off the lights and air conditioning in the guest rooms etc.

How can you help us?

Join us to help reduce energy waste and to safeguard the planet by means of the following measures:

Only switch on lights that are necessary. The more lights switched on, the greater the energy consumed. Always turn off lights when leaving the guest room and, as you exit the room, kindly remove your room key from the sensor, so that everything in your room is switched off except the refrigerator.

Open the curtains during the day allow the use of natural light instead of artificial light. However, if you leave the room, please close the curtains to reduce the heat entering the room.

Adjust the temperature of the air condition thermostat so that it doesn’t cool in excess. A temperature of 22° C is recommended. (Each degree can save 5 to 10% in energy). Unplug equipment chargers (Mobile phones, video games, laptops, etc).

Use the hotel trains for transportation.
